Is it normal to shut up media?
The union of newspapers of Estonia considers as the extremely dangerous born in minds of officials from justice the bill which, as a matter of fact, will silence press as it cannot promulgate more political views of the person and photograph in public places without the permission.
Lawyers of concern Ekspress Grupp and Eesti Meedia have specified some doubtful places in the bill prepared in headed Rhine by Lang the Ministry of Justice (Estonia) which, besides protection of the rights of separate persons, can cause difficulties by transfer of the information and create threat for a freedom of speech, writes Postimees.So, for example, one of points of the bill says: delicate personal data are also political views and world outlook belief. Also the law says, that the press can interfere with affairs only " in case of overwhelming public interest " though till now in the law " public interest " appeared simply. As considers the union of newspapers, photographing in public places and on public actions, according to the new law, would become impossible.
