The campaign secretariat started work on 1 January 2006. In its final form it will include a campaign manager, a communication officer, an administrative assistant for the educational activities and a secretary.
The campaign manager is being recruited through a special open procedure. Until his / her recruitment, co-ordination of the campaign-preparation phase is being managed by the co-ordinator of the partnership between the Council of Europe and the European Commission.
An expert seconded from the German Youth Council is also helping the secretariat with liaison, particularly relations with the National Campaign Committees.
The secretariat is closely cooperating with other Council of Europe bodies.
