One of the first events of the campaign has been a four-day European Fan Convention in Rust (Germany), from 4 to 7 June 2006. The Convention brought together around 150 young people from the 14 European countries participating in the World Cup, as well as fans from non-European countries.
The Fan Convention included interactive workshops on important subjects to fans, for example discrimination, the fight against spectator violence, developing supporter charters in Europe, the promotion of fair play, etc. The participants were also invited to join non-competitive sport activities in intercultural groups and to enjoy the Europa-Park attractions.
Europa-Park hosted the Fan Convention as part of its efforts to promote fair play and European ideals. The event was sponsored by the Youth Directorate of the European Commission.
