LIVING LIBRARY

What

 living library

Living library is a project that works as normal library, nevertheless,  instead of books, there are human beings – those are people who are often prejudiced by the majority due to their ethnic or religious believes, sexual orientation, profession, social background or physical appearance.

These Books are often also victims of discrimination, racism and xenophobia. The project gives unique opportunity to people who would not normally meet and speak to each other.
It is organised in a music festival where lots of young people come every year. Not only music but also other accompanying activities are taking place. Living library perfectly fits into the concept of such festival – young people meeting young people.  Main aim is to eliminate prejudices and stereotypes against groups and minorities of people a number of majority. It promotes intercultural dialogue and human rights.
