"Tolerance Scarf" for Estonian Prime Minister

take action

Tolerance ScarfEstonian Prime Minister Andrus Ansip did not receive youngsters from the Youth Union Siin who wanted to deliver him a "Tolerance Scarf". The action was held within the
European-wide Action Week Against Racism, powered by the "All Different All
Equal" campaign.

Youngsters from
Siin made a "Tolerance Scarf" (in Estonian "SALLivuse SALL") with slogans like "We are all equal. Look deeper", "Colour is an optical illusion" and "UNITED to
Combat Racism". The objective was to hand over the scarf to the Estonian Prime Minister as a symbol of struggle for tolerance in the society.

Siin wanted to remind Andrus Ansip - now carrying coalition negotiations - that in
Estonia live Russian-speaking people as well. Some European volunteers joined the
demostration to proclaim that besides Estonians and Russians also citizens from other nationalities reside in the country.

The demostration
was held peacefully in front of the Stenbock House (government house) on Toompea
Hill in the old town of Tallinn. Four policeman were present, one of
them filming the demonstration. As the prime minister did not reveice the
demonstrators, they just delivered the scarf to the police officer in the
entrance of the government house.
