Action week against Homophobia
What |
The right to live in equality and free from discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and gender identity is a key human right - and one of the goals of the All Different All Equal campaign. The issue will be highlighted during the first week in March 2007, when Poland will be the venue for a set of events to highlight the need to act against homophobia Europe-wide. Europe's leading campaigners for the rights of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people will team up with the Council of Europe for a global village on March 3 when members of the public can learn more about LGBT lifestyles. Not only will visitors be able to take away pamphlets and texts - they will even be able to take out real people, thanks to the living library, where you can make a date with a living person who can be interviewed about his or her lifestyle. Warsaw city centre will be the venue for a march for gender equality on March 4 at 12 noon, when women will take to the streets to demand their right to live in peace. And on March 5th will be the venue for opening of the exhibition "Homophobia, this is how it looks like". http://alldifferent-allequal.info/poland | ||||
