Diversity condoms

Communication Strategy

Last week, a Belgian Youth NGO called MJA presented their third Belgian Pop Line. The aim of Belgian Pop Line is to make it easier for youngster to buy condoms. By asking artists to create the artwork of the condom boxes, they become collector’s items. The new range has been created by Belgian artists, bands and dj’s who have a foreign background: Ali Tcheelab, Paco, Sweet Coffee, Mobassic, Merdan Taplak, Brahim, Hadise and Leki. Eight artists who want to promote a ‘safe sex message’ AND an ‘all different all equal’ message to their fans. The safe sex from the Belgian Pop Line is for everyone, that’s why they support the ‘all different all equal’ campaign. MJA decided to put the ‘all different all equal’ logo on the condom boxes.

I think this is a good example of how to use existing channels to promote the campaign and to join forces. All praise goes to MJA! More info: www.belgianpopline.be (in Dutch)

European level campaign

I'm Jan Van Hove, from MJA (the abbreviation of "Maatschappelijke Jongeren Actie" or Social/Civic Youth Action if you translate it), and we have launched this campaign (www.belgianpopline.be) with diversity condoms in Belgium.

Within our European network "The Healthy Network"an iNGO of youth associations active within the non-formal health promotion and -communiction (www.healthynetwork.org), we are seriously considering to implement it on European level, and we are now working on a European condoline;
- contacting some music offices; some big names, famous groups have already confirmed their participation, but we are looking for more ;-)
- looking for possibilities for co-funding
- ...

If organisations are interested in a cooperation for this campaign that will be worked out within our working group "Sexual and Reproductive Health & Rights" of the Healthy Network, they can contact us via office@healthynetwork.org

Best regards,

Jan Van Hove

Wonderful effort

Hi.

I'm davide from Italy. We are warming up to let this wonderful campaign start.

Among all the ideas & suggestions I could get from this wonderful site, this Comdom things was the Best! The question is, how do I get those condoms (in quantity, not just for me and my friends ; -) down here in Italy?

How much should it cost? Shal I write in english to this wonderful Belgium site in Dutch (http://jbas1166.scarlet.be/vvc/bpl/)? Is there anybody who could explain me how to, and why not coordinate ALL EUROPEAN CAMPAIGNS with this powerful strategy?

Happy days to everybody from Italy. always gazing at this site for further information

diversity condoms

yes, it is indeed a good example!
and it raises lots of issues about taboos, sexuality, communication strategies, etc etc

also interesting to see that it is still not so obvious where the campaign is coming from...
