All Different All Equal

Google doesn't love us... (yet!)

Imagine Andrea, a young European who just heard at the radio that the all different - all equal campaign is organising a concert of her/his favourite singer just in town. Andrea gets on-line and immediately search for "all different - all equal" in Google, in order to find more information about the concert.

Well, if you are really imagining the scene, you should definitvely take your time: Andrea will have to read over 100.000 Google results before to find our website!

This is due to the fact that the Portal of the Campaign is "low in rank". Is there anything we can do for helping Andrea to go to the concert?

The rules used by search engines to rank websites are - at least in part - kept as precious secrets, but some of their aspects are known to the public, and can be used to "push" a website higher in rank, so that it is displayed first. The techniques is well known under the name of googlebombing, and at least in its basic form can be easily implemented by the campaigners.

If you want to help Andrea, all that you will have to do is to create a link to this website from anywhere else in Internet (your organisation website, your personal blog, a forum you are debating in, a newsgroup you participate in...). But pay attention to the way you will make it: the words "all different - all equal" should be the link itself:

Bad Example: The campaign "All Different - All Equal" is here!
Good Example: Visit the "All Different - All Equal" preparation website!

If you create such link, you're welcome to write a comment to this post, indicating what is the website you made the link from (this will increase the rank of your website too!).

Many thanks (on the behalf of Andrea!)

Trivia of the day: one of the most known googlebombs ever organised has been the "Miserable Failure" one: just try to insert these two words in Google and see what it will be the first result!

..........

I wish to help Andrea!

I have created a link to this website from my personal blog!
Then, I have joked with Google.
Maybe, Mister Google loves us again!
To the sixth place there  is an introductory document to the campaign: you can make the download.

google.nl loves us more :)

just a positive note;

Actually, Mac, when searching for All different all equal with the Dutch Google; google.nl, the situation is not as bad :)

The first two hits refer to the youth site of the European Commission (http://europa.eu.int/youth/your_rights/all_different,_all_equal/index_eu...). So, I'm hoping to make a deal with them as soon as the public website will be up and running :D This might be the case in some other countries as well....

Besides, within the first 10 hits, there are several sites who actually refer to the campaign or the 1996 education pack.

...and what about...

...a link from the Dutch Youth Forum? :)

BTW: observing the statistics from the control panel, I saw that we already had some visitors coming from the website of the European Youth Forum!

The European Youth Forum had

The European Youth Forum had the link published last tuesday in our weekly newsletter and we will do so tomorrow again!
I also have it on my private blog and sent a mail to all national youth council to ask them to link it on their web pages!

soon google will love us even more!

b

We noticed it!

I think the EFJ will be pleased to know that they are the second most important "incoming link" in our list (straight after the CoE youth webpage)... Good work, keep it up! :)
