The Partenership in the youth field between the Council of Europe and the European Commission will organise a seminar on the themes of Diversity - Human Rights - Participation.
The seminar shall take place at the European Youth Centre, Strasbourg from May 11 to May 13, 2006.
The seminar brings together researchers, policy makers and NGOs to look analytically at these three topics with the aim of enriching debates within the "All Different - All Equal" Camapign and the youth field as a whole.
The seminar has three main aims:
- To analyse the conceptual baggage behind terms such as ‘diversity’ and ‘human rights’;
- To constructively critique the way in which these concepts are applied in practice (in formal and non-formal education, training, youth work, diversity training, human rights education, anti-racism work, social work, outreach work, urban development etc.);
- To facilitate a discussion of how more egalitarian participation can be increased through evidence-based examples of good practice (e.g. research carried out on projects or initiatives – planned or spontaneous – that led to increased rights, freedoms and opportunities for participation).
A full Call for Papers and registration form can be found by clicking here.
All applications must be sent electronically no later than March 10, 2006.
