Four nationalists have promised to dismantle the Bronze soldier - the liberator from fascism

Jüri Liim, Tiit Madisson, Ain Saar and Aavo Savitch have made on May, 10th the joint statement in which have promised to dismantle a monument on Tõnismägi, sowing, in their opinion, political disagreements in Tallinn. Figures call all to join the Estonian national movement.


" We, undersubscribed, actively taken part emancipating movement in 1980th years, declare, that honourable mission of created Estonian national movement becomes removal of the Soviet monument from Tõnismägi. Time has shown, that authorities do not have such desire ", - is spoken in the application.

 

Further figures declare: «We promise that by next anniversary the Estonian Republic of the monument symbolizing the Soviet occupation, on Tõnismägi any more will not be ".

On Thursday 26-years Silver Laus has broken through police protections to a figure of the Bronze soldier on Tõnismägi and tried to throw over a monument the Estonian flag.
 
As informs TV3, after organized to Thursday the “Union of fatherland” of meeting at Tallinn goverment Laus and Kalev Rebane have gone to the Bronze soldier to continue.
 
Rebane began to sing songs and to swing a flag while its comrade has dived under a police tape and has tried to throw over a sculpture the Estonian flag. Attempt is not has gone right, the police has turned out Laus from protected territory.
 
But Laus has not calmed down and has tried to make the same once again. And again nothing has left, but now the police has made the report on offence. Was, according to police, in a condition of easy alcoholic intoxication Laus can be punished by the penalty at a rate of up to 12 000 eek

In the first day of July in Puurmani district Jõgeva new political association - the Estonian national movement will be created.
 
The slogan of new figures is simple, writes Eesti Ekspress. "the Estonian national movement is the civil initiative - from simple people to simple people. Prime minister Andrus Ansip, acting on Monday in parliament, has declared, that become by a symbol of occupation of the Bronze soldier it is necessary to clean, and if in vicinities of a monument people - buried them in another place.
 
Dates to which the monument will be dismantled, Ansip has not named, writes Postimees.
 
According to prime-minister, it is necessary to begin excavation at the Bronze soldier to find out, who there is buried. " And if someone is buried, they need to be transferred adequately on a cemetery ".
 
Ansip has noted, that is not engaged in predictions and does not know, when the Bronze soldier will be transferred from Tõnismjagi to Marjamägi, and whether it will be made by September, 22nd, by 62-nd anniversary of occupation of Tallinn by the Soviet armies. It, according to Ansipa, will be made as soon as possible. " However to name now term it would be incorrect ".

Before carrying out of a round table on a problem of a monument in Tallinn on Tõnismägi representatives of "Night patrol", the Constitutional party of group "List of Klensky" and Association of the Russian citizens in Estonia: have distributed the following application.
 
"Last events around of a monument on Tõnismägi have evidently shown, that in Estonia there are forces which for the sake of the are narrowly-political ends ready to neglect public calmness, down to kindling interethnic break a set.
Nationalistic-radicals insist on dismantle of a monument, in capital government the project of the decision about carry of a monument is presented, they have lead provocative picket against thousand and thousand the people who have come on May, 9th esteem memory of soldiers, released the Europe from nazism and all fallen in the Second world war. These facts testify to conscious provocation, first of all, against not Estonian population of the country.
Capital authorities and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republic of Estonia have not prevented carrying out of provocative picket and, so-called, picnic on Tõnismägi. We consider provocative applications of chairman of government Andrus Ansip for necessity of dismantle "the Bronze soldier". Politicians do not have bases to be covered with opinion of all people when they bring a attention to the question on necessity of dismantle of a monument.
 
Natural indignation is caused with a position of the majority of mass media. They conduct a rate on split of a society, and for them became daily propagation rusofobia and the antiRussian moods, and also frank sympathy to vandals. Total zombiing of people has led to that non-estonians, even citizens of Republic of Estonia, perceive as invaders and colonists or their descendants.
 
Our society is tired that authority and Political elite veilty, and even openly divide the population to a national attribute, ignoring desire and to be right all inhabitants high-grade citizens of the Estonian Republic and the European Union.
 
May events on Tõnismägi have shown, that the policy of "a priority of the radical nation" has cracked, stimulating language chauvinism, assimilation non-estonians through reform of Russian formation, etc. Nothing is justified falsification of the newest history when won nazism admit invaders, and at war on the party of nazi Germany - "fighters for freedom".
 
It is impossible to ignore that fact, that protection "the Bronze soldier" politicians and have organized not parties. The initiative proceeded from the public. There was a chance to begin high-grade dialogue between the Estonian and not Estonian part of the population on the broad audience of questions of our general life in Estonia.
 
In this connection we consider necessary
 
  1. Immediately, having provided appropriate protection to remove a police protection of square with a monument on Tõnismägi, as offending human advantage and damaging to prestige of Estonia.
 
2.      Polices resolutely to stop any attempts of violation of monuments and, observing principles of a lawful state to provide inevitability of punishment for vandalism.
 
  1. Parlament, to the President and Government ER (Estonian Republik) to assess the naked split of a society and to formulate offers on an output from the developed situation with the purpose of real integration of people of Estonia.
 
4. To begin universal dialogue at different levels about peace and equal in rights coexistence of the Estonian and not Estonian part of the population, their integration into the Europe. We are ready to accept in it the most active participation.

The secretary general of the Union of fatherland and “Res Publica” Aimar Altosaar has informed on Monday of the Tallinn organization of the “Union of fatherland”, that appeared in print applications in support of fascism Kalev Rebane does not approach a party.

Prime minister Andrus Ansip considers, that in a problem of the Bronze soldier should be engaged by the “Fund of public reconciliation”, however himself promises to struggle for carry of a monument on any of the Tallinn cemeteries.

 
Ansip has told, that all over again it should understand for himself all the technical moments, and then find for carry whenever possible broad support.

The government has approved the bill according to which citizens of Estonia, to Soviet resistance Soviet and German occupations, struggling for restoration of independence, it is necessary to consider as fighters for freedom.
 
The persons who have committed a crime against humanity or war crime will not be considered as fighters for freedom, the press-service of the government informs.
The purpose of the law - to express a recognition to all citizens of the Estonian Republic considering, that that or have otherwise brought the contribution to restoration of independence of Estonia.
The given decision cannot be the basis for material encouragement of fighters for freedom, i.e. it will be not accompanied with budgetary charges.
The member of the “Union of fatherland” Trivimi Velliste has named the law made by Minister of Defence Jurgen Ligi - madness. " If the government hopes, that a definition containing in the project "the fighter for freedom is not considered the person who has committed a crime against humanity or war crime" will eliminate as fighters for freedom of the persons battled in SS battalions this hope is naive", - has declared Velliste in interview Eesti Päevaleht.

The police has entered an interdiction into Saturday on movement about the Bronze soldier in Tallinn and has protected square at a monument a dark blue tape.

At 12-00 on Tõnismägi hundreds of Russian youth of Tallinn and some tens Estonian nationalists have gathered. Russian youth has gathered nearby from a monument with carnations, the some people swing flags of the European Union.

The Estonian nationalists by estimations pair tens, but they deliver polices of noticeably more efforts. Nearby 11.45 to a protection send two girls with 3color which policemen have ordered to leave. Girls send to church Kaarli.

Soon on Tõnismägi the company with a greater Estonian flag was, the police began to surround them.

At 13.15 a some hundreds of Russians have reached “Watch of Freedom”. They were followed by Estonians with 3color. Russian began to pull out a flag. The police to which managed to divide the clashing parties has interfered.

On streets send some tens armed stics and the weapon of policemen.

As correspondent Eesti Päevaleht informs, Russian have combined flowers which have brought for the Bronze soldier, to “Watch of Freedom”, having filled with all of them bottom. One of organizers has demanded, that the police protected these flowers, having promised otherwise to leave own protection.

 

The policeman has contacted the heads and has promised to protect flowers. At the same time policemen negotiated by radio for exhibiting a military police.

 

At 14 o'clock intensity has weakened, many people send away, about hundred person stood on two parties of a police circuit and discussed events.

On Saturday, on May, 27th at 12 o'clock businessman Kalev Rebane will arrange before the Bronze soldier picnic with a national flag.

"We shall express the support to a wish of Prime Minister Andrus Ansip that it has accepted and has put into practice the final decision ", - the organizer of the picnic acted on the last Saturday on meeting of the protest explains the motives. In its opinion, the monument should be transferred or to park of the House of officers, or on Maarjamägi, or somewhere else where Russian will want.

"On this Saturday we wish to arrange picnic before the Bronze soldier, and beside the Estonian flag will flutter, - explains Rebane. Is not demonstration, there will be no speeches, one thousand friends is invited all. Nobody can forbid to us of it as it is our ground". "Come necessarily!" - so, according to Kalev Rebane, it has been notified both the Estonian police, and the prime minister.

At a meeting of the Constitutional party and Initiative group "List of Klensky" it decided to approve idea of petition in protection of a monument to the Soldier-liberator on Tõnismägi.

Drawing up of a subscription leaf is entrusted to initiative group "List of Klensky". Sheets will extend among the organizations which have expressed desire to spend petition, and also through active workers who will collect signatures on a residence or in public places, in particular at the Bronze soldier. The account of the given out subscription sheets will be provided. Signatures will collect across all Estonia.

Wishing receive a subscription leaf for petition can to call on ph. 53-987-272, 528-25-71, 645-53-35 and 55-515-850.

33 persons can undersign for each subscription leaf, to specify it is necessary a name and a surname, desirable also a personal code. Each leaf has number, all the line long are numbered. After filling a leaf it comes back the organization or the active worker to the one who has given out it.

 

All data will be brought in computer. Intermediate results of petition will be transferred mass-media. Copies of subscription sheets will be transferred to government ER and sent to Strasbourg. Separate complete sets of spears will be transferred to memory to the Museum of occupation in Tallinn, and also Andrus Ansip and to Mart Laar.

In opinion of 62 % of Estonians, promise Jüri Liim and its accomplices independently to clean a monument it is not justified, it is found out from the interrogation lead OÜ Faktum and Ariko.

On Monday (22-05-06) in the evening the unknown person the man again has soiled the Bronze soldier on Tõnismägi - this time the person of a figure has been covered by a light paint.

 

 The press-secretary of police Tuuli Härson has told Postimees, that the crime was made by one person, but at it was two assistants.. "They have disappeared in direction Tõnismägi and till now are not caught ".

 

On the act of vandalism of police have informed at 22.35, actions on clearing the beginning at 23.35 works have been completed.

 

Criminal case is raised.

According to prime minister Andrus Ansip, the Bronze soldier on Tänismägi is a symbol of occupation, and it for a long time should be taken down. Ansip has declared in interview Eesti Raadio, that the monument is necessary for cleaning from Tänismägi "as soon as possible".

Though initially the monument stood as a gravestone, it for a long time has got other value and became a symbol of occupation which cannot be suffered, the prime minister has declared. "Near to church Kaarli to it not a place ".

At the same time Ansip has added, that the Bronze soldier should be cleaned already for a long time as it has been made with the Soviet monuments in other cities.

It is possible to tell, that now the moment is already missed, it has noted.

Ansip ascertained, that the Bronze soldier causes problems, however their decision should be legally correct. It is a question of a historical monument, the city ground, the monument belongs to city, the prime minister has listed.

It has declared, that in spite of the fact that political convictions of the former mayoralties allowed to clean a monument, it has not been made. Clearly, that the monument causes a pressure, and the there will come its culmination, the easier earlier, the prime minister has told.

It has offered, that the Bronze soldier could be transferred, for example, on cemetery Siselinna. If it will be found out, that under a monument soldiers are buried, remains it is necessary to re-bury.

On preliminary data, the police has detained at a monument of a two suspected, informs a portal www.crime.ee.

At 2.10 nights on a place there have arrived workers of firm TEnavapuhastuse AS who have cleaned off a paint.

The police is engaged in investigation of a crime.

Not authorized gathering again took place in Sunday in Tallinn on Tõnismägi at the Bronze soldier.

According to Postimees, soon after 14 hours about a monument have gathered nearby 50 person, basically youth which have assigned to bottom red carnations and зажгли candles. No organizers saying speeches, existing.

About 15 hours when the rain has begun, gathered dispatch. In total at a monument have visited the person 150.

The appeal to come by 14 o'clock to the Bronze soldier has appeared on one of Russian-speaking блогов, the reason for it became the Saturday meeting organized on Тынисмяги by the Estonian nationalist movement.
