First time user

Hallo there everyone out there. This is my first time on the site, and I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone in Cyberspace.

Let me introduce myself to anyone out there who doesn't know me already. I am Cathie Burton and I work in the Directorate of Communications at the Council of Europe - the parent body for the Youth Centre and for the Campaign itself.

I'm going to be working alongside the team and it will be fun!

My special job is to use PR and media techniques to make sure we hit the headlines. I'm an ex journalist - coming up through the media in the UK, working for the Guardian, Mirror and BBC before I headed out to Brussels and the European Parliament and then to the Council.

I'll be with the team in Budapest in April to train on media skills.

I think our great strength will really be in diversity ( horrible word - it basically means "All different,all equal") I'm stuck here in Strasbourg and I am just one person, but if we create a really strong campaigning network we can get our message out to the world - change some hearts, change some minds.

I want to make the campaign strong, I want to make it colourful and I want to make it powerful :-) Looking forward to hearing from you all - and maybe meeting a few of you in person.
